Northwest Arkansas has been named as the fourth-best place to live in the United States for 2021-22. The annual ranking is conducted by U.S. News and World Report.
Springdale’s metropolitan area moved past Austin to secure the fourth spot. Boulder, CO was ranked No. 1, followed by Raleigh/Durham, NC and Huntsville, AL. Austin fell to fifth.
“This news is no surprise to the thousands who live and work in Northwest Arkansas,” said Chamber president Bill Rogers. “We’ve known for a long time what a wonderful place this is to live and work.
“Our robust economy, expanding health care, job growth and high quality education are magnets for those looking to relocate here,” Rogers added. “We enjoy a remarkable quality of life and the message is clear…Northwest Arkansas has open arms for anyone seeking a better place to live.”
Factors involved in the ranking include job markets, quality of life (crime rates, health care availability, education quality and commute time) and the number of people moving in and out of the region.
Little Rock was the only other Arkansas metro to make the list, ranking 93 out of the 150 U.S. cities ranked.
