Arkansas Children's Hospital, one of the nation's most respected pediatric healthcare providers, is constructing a second campus to be located in Springdale's Ballpark District. Arkansas Children's Northwest, when open in early 2018, will provide families in our region close-to-home access to critical care they currently must travel three hours to receive.

The hospital is located on a 37-acre campus at the intersection of S. 56th Street and Watkins Avenue, just east of I-49. The 225,000-square foot facility will include:

  • 24 inpatient beds
  • Emergency Department/Urgent Care Center with 21 exam rooms
  • 30 Clinic exam rooms
  • Five Operating rooms
  • Imaging capabilities (MRI, CT and routine x-ray)
  • Diagnostic services (infusion, PFT, EEG, echo, neurophysiology, audiology, rehabilitation)
  • Helipad with refueling station

The population of Northwest Arkansas has surpassed 500,000 residents. It is estimated that the pediatric population in the region is growing two- to three-times faster than in any other part of the state. Last year, 21,000 children were treated at the Arkansas Children's Hospital Lowell clinic. More than 450 children were transported to the main hospital in Little Rock via Angel One helicopters and ambulances. With the Springdale location, 70 percent of Northwest Arkansas residents will be able to reach ACH's services within 30 minutes or less.
