Springdale's metropolitan area ranks as one of the nation's most affordable and safest areas to live with a cost of living well below the national average. Each year, Springdale ranks in the top five of Arkansas' safest cities.

Each quarter, the Council for Community and Economic Research releases its ACCRA Cost of Living Composite Index of for more than 300 urban areas in the country that is comprised of six key indices in the areas of groceries, housing, utilities, transportation, healthcare and miscellaneous goods.

The 2015 year end report below shows Springdale's metro composite index at 88.2 on a 100% scale...11.8% below the national average:
