Record Crowd Attends Annual Meeting
The 87th Annual Meeting will be February 2, 2009!
Harps Food Stores and Tyson Foods were presenting sponsors for the 86th Springdale Chamber of Commerce Annual Meeting held Monday, Jan. 14, at the Northwest Arkansas Convention Center. A record crowd was on hand as Bill Mathews was named Civic Service Honoree and Mitch Styles announced as Ambassador of the Year. Mathews and his brother, Walter, are well known for their McDonald's franchises in Springdale and throughout the region. Styles represents Ozarks Electric Cooperative as a Chamber Ambassador. ComedySportz, a nationally-known comedy improv troup provided the night's entertainment. High school students from Springdale High, Har-Ber High and Shiloh Christian were also honored for their academic achievements.
Outgoing chairman Danny Dotson of Legacy National Bank was awarded a plaque for his year of service in 2007. In addition to his remarks about the Chamber's achievements for the past year, Dotson introduced incoming chair Brian Moore of ESI, Inc. Moore announced the formation of six Task Forces that will work during the coming year advancing the work started at CityFuture II in October.
