Ignite Springdale! is a comprehensive effort of the Springdale Chamber of Commerce highlighting four initiatives with specific goals, each fully vetted by a blue-ribbon panel of business and community leaders for their potential for success and their importance to the Springdale community.

Ignite Springdale! will create more than 3,700 direct jobs, recruit technology firms with a total investment approaching $5 million, re-tool workforce training to leverage Springdale’s unique educational strengths and swell the pride of Springdale residents through coordinated efforts designed to tell the remarkable story of our hometown.

INITATIVE 1 (Growing Technology)

Ignite Springdale will aggressively recruit and grow Springdale’s technology economy…and develop the facilities and programs required to recruit companies and talent.

Benchmarks that will be used to determine success include new business startups, new technology jobs and private investment:

  • 6 new Springdale-based technology businesses
  • 250 new technology jobs
  • $4.8 million technology investment in our economy
  • Average annual salaries of $57,000-$92,000

INITATIVE 2 (Retention & Expansion)

Ignite Springdale will create new jobs in the manufacturing, retail/commercial and professional service sectors...and help existing industry to expand.

Benchmarks that will be used to determine success include new job growth at new and expanded businesses in Springdale:

  • 15 manufacturing expansions or new industry locations
  • 1,150 new manufacturing jobs
  • 600 new professional/service jobs
  • 1,000 new retail/commercial jobs
  • Annual avg. mfg. salaries of $30,000-$40,000
  • Annual avg. service salaries of $40,000-$50,000
  • Annual avg. retail salaries of $26,000-$30,000

INITATIVE 3 (Workforce Training)

Ignite Springdale will coordinate the process of assessing workforce skills and needs of our residents and employers...and the development of a new workforce training model, insuring that all parties remain successfully engaged.

Benchmarks that will be used to determine success include the development and implementation of a new coordinated workforce training model:

  • Complete a community workforce skills assessment
  • Complete an industry workforce needs assessment
  • Develop, with partners, a new coordinated workforce training model
  • Provide oversight of the model’s progress
  • Drive partners to be successful in the new programming

INITATIVE 4 (Springdale Pride)

Ignite Springdale will focus on instilling a new pride for Springdale in residents…advocate for improvements critical to our city...identify and recruit pro-business candidates… and look for ways to assist key community initiatives.

Benchmarks that will be used to determine success include evidence of improved pride in our community by our residents and the results of  intentional efforts to address critical needs and issues that face Springdale:

  • Elevate Springdale as hometown of choice for professionals moving here
  • Aggressive & proactive public relations campaign
  • Marketing, communications & branding
  • Research critical issues & develop cutting-edge lobbying efforts
  • Identify & train candidates
